Elementary cellular automata is a binary, nearest-neighbor, one-dimensional automaton. It has two possible states for each cell - on or off, and rules that depend only on the state of its nearest neighbourhood. The next generation based on the state of the cell to its left, the state of the cell itself, and the state of the cell to its right.
Over time, cells will produce many complex structures and processes similar to those in nature. These structures may enter a periodic cycle, may stay in a fixed state, or may be neither completely random nor chaotic, nor have a fixed period and state.
Following the simplest rule, every cell is affected by its nearest neighbourhood. These basic unit influence each other and develop between order and chaos.
